Fourth, it would seem that Western states want the federal government out of their affairs. Okay, but mention the fact that many cities (Las Vegas, Phoenix, L.A…..) owe their very existence to the federally funded dams and reservoirs and you’ll discover the simple fact; states want the money, but not the responsibility.
To Glenn Beck and all the rest, in the future, please use the government run public libraries to check the facts. We need diversity and freedom of the press, it’s a basic right, but it’s a disgrace to the American public past, present, and future when you don’t know American history in this regard! I understand the difference between opinion and news, just like Glenn Beck = gross untruths and unright lies. “America’s Best Idea”, or I guess you forgot that part.

Third, states have been crying "land grab" for decades. A recent example is the Sagebrush Rebellion of the 1980s. This movement, like all previous, thought the federal government should relinquish control to the state. Now one might argue that the locals know the land best; seems like commonsense. Unfortunately without control many, not all, of the locals overgrazed, deforested, and ruined the soil (Dust Bowl) the land to such an extent that they simply gave it back to the federal government (the states didn’t want ruined land).

Second, "Western Land Grab", but from whom? To acquire this land Americans fought, some died, and most paid taxes, irrespective of state lines. Before territories joined the Union as states all land was federally owned. So to say that Obama is grabbing or stealing land from the locals is historically false. The federal government serving as a representative of the American people already owns the land.

I was just flipping TV channels and decided to see what you, Glenn Beck were saying, and as a life-long student of natural resources what you were saying was interesting. I've heard you say numerous times that you enjoy history and advocates utilizing public libraries. I agree!!
My research and use of the libraries reveals this:
First, here is a very short list of lands that were once national monuments and are now national parks: Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Zion, Arcadia. Locals cried foul when these lands were protected and now they would scream louder abolished. Recreation is business for them, money in their pockets.

I think what Glenn Beck wants and the rest of Americans who believe in the Constitution is to rid Washington DC of the astounding corruption and bring us back to a resemblance of our founding Fathers. We want honest politicians who will do the right thing for our country.
Right now, we are in deep DOO DOO and only our vote for good men and women will change DC.
