Somewhere around 7000 tea party activists gathered in Searchlight, Nevada to hear former Governor Sarah Palin as she rallied the troops saying, “We’re not going to sit down and shut up.“ Saying also that Harry Reid will have to explain his votes when he comes back to his hometown to campaign.

Palin told them the big-government, big-debt spending spree of the Senate majority leader, Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is over.

“You’re fired!” Palin said.

The former Governor went on to say, “Some of you are registered Republicans. Some of you are … what we used to call Reagan Democrats,” Palin said. “And some of you are like so many of my friends and my family, including my own husband, just independent, not registered in any party. Just true, blue-blooded Americans.”

Some were calling the Tea Party gathering a conservative Woodstock. Just fine with me!

Jon Stewart, host of The Daily Show in surprising fashion called Sarah Palin a genius. He continues, “Her ability to do this well is just one more example of the genius of Sarah Palin: she can master anything.”

However on the other hand he wasn’t so kind to Mitt Romney saying, “I think Romney is always going to be Gore to Palin’s Bush. He wants it more. He’s worked harder for it. He looks the part. But he ain’t gettin’ it.”

ON STEWART, HOST: Yeah, that was not bad. That was actually not bad. It was very good, as a matter of fact. It was quite good. You know, I don’t say this to a lot of comics, especially new ones, but if you had a day job, you should quit it. Dive into this comedy thing fulltime. You know what? Her ability to do this well is just one more example of the genius of Sarah Palin: she can master anything. Four-year term of governor, BOOM, done in two and a half years. Standup comic: her first gig as a standup comic is the “Tonight Show.” You cannot underestimate this woman.

You know who you have to feel bad for? Mitt Romney. Coincidentally, he was on the “Late Show” with David Letterman at the exact same time making his pitch to be America’s conservative sweetheart.
