Delaware Deserves Better: Christine O’Donnell For Senate

Filed under: 2010 Elections — Cato Uticensis @ 11:33 PM

Smitty over at The Other McCain has uncovered a sweetheart of a candidate in Christine O’Donnell who is running for the U.S Senate.

Which brings us to Delaware. For a small state, she’s got a big RINO in the form of Mike Castle running for the Senate. Via Mark Levin Fan, Delaware Online reports:

Castle won’t join GOP effort to repeal health law. Rescinding legislation is ‘unrealistic’ goal.

Well, Representative Castle, the Revolution itself wasn’t terribly realistic either. Had we a bunch of Stupakian thinkers like yourself at the time, our currency would still be pounds sterling. My personal, unrealistic opinion is that we should have an Article V cramdown, with 35 States and blow away:

  • ObamaCare,
  • The Great Society,
  • The New Deal,
  • The Federal Reserve Act, and
  • The 16th and 17th Amendments

. . . which is why I have not been left in charge.

So how about [we] think American, think big, and, for Delaware voters, think about supporting Christine O’Donnell, the Sarah Palin of the East. Representative Castle’s positions just aren’t packing the heat needed to restore America to greatness. Christine O’Donnell, while probably not as take-the-hill-crazy as me, is the principled sort of Republican we need in the 112th Congress.

Christine O’Donnell would certainly be a breathe of fresh air in Washington and certainly more pleasing to the eyes to behold!

Marco Rubio Holds 32 Point Lead Over Crist

Filed under: 2010 Elections — Cato Uticensis @ 6:10 PM

The way the Florida Republican primary for Senate is shaping up, it’s not going to be even close. According to PPP Marco Rubio leads Charlie Crist 60-28, including a staggering 71-17 lead with conservatives.

Rubio is benefiting from a widely held sentiment among Florida GOP voters that Congressional Republicans are too liberal and that Crist would add to the problem. 41% of them think that the party leadership in Washington is too liberal, and with those folks Rubio holds an 83-10 lead. 50% think that Crist himself is too liberal and with those voters Rubio’s advantage expands even wider to 90-5.

Charlie Crist may also have a difficult time to make another run for Governor too.

GOP voters say they’d prefer likely nominee Bill McCollum over Crist by a 49-35 margin. In fact Republicans generally just want Crist to go away- 56% say they’d like him out of office a year from now to 19% who’d like to see him continue as Governor and only 14% who want him in the Senate.

Sorry Charlie, it’s time to take off the sun glasses, cause your future in Flordia politics doesn’t look too bright.

Rasmussen Poll Has Kasich 49%, Strickland 38%

According to Scott Rasmussen, John Kasich has widened his lead over Ted Strickland in the Ohio Governors race.

Republican challenger John Kasich has extended his lead over incumbent Democrat Ted Strickland to 11 points in Ohio’s gubernatorial race.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Ohio voters finds Kasich leading Strickland 49% to 38%. Six percent (6%) prefer another candidate, and seven percent (7%) are undecided.

Last month, Kasich held a six-point lead – 47% to 41% – over Strickland, mirroring the 47% to 40% lead he had in early January. These results also show little change from the first survey of the contest conducted in December.

Rasmussen had some other very interesting polling worth noting:

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of voters in the state say it would be better for the country if most congressional incumbents were defeated in November. Twenty-one percent (21%) say it would be better if most incumbents were reelected.

Just 33% think their own representative in Congress deserves to be reelected, but 39% don’t.

However, Ohio voters are almost evenly divided in their views of the Tea Party movement: 40% have a favorable opinion of the movement, while 37% view it unfavorably. Just 17% consider themselves a part of the Tea Party movement.

The Democratic hopefuls, like many in their party in other states, also are probably suffering from voter unhappiness with the economy and the national health care plan proposed by President Obama.

Forty-four percent (44%) favor the health care plan now working its way through Congress. Fifty-four percent (54%) oppose it. This is roughly comparable with feelings nationally about the plan. Twenty-seven percent (27%) strongly favor the plan, but 47% strongly oppose it.

Fifty-five percent (55%) say a better strategy for health care reform would be to pass smaller bills that address problems individually rather than a comprehensive bill like the one currently being considered. Thirty-four percent (34%) say a comprehensive bill is the better way to go.

When it comes to health care decisions, 50% of Ohio voters fear the federal government more than private health insurance companies. Thirty-nine percent (39%) fear the private insurers more.

Thirty-six percent (36%) in Ohio rate the president’s handling of health care as good or excellent, while 48% say he’s done a poor job.

Help Elect J.D. Hayworth

Filed under: 2010 Elections — Cato Uticensis @ 10:49 PM

It’s time for change in Washington D.C and J.D. Hayworth is a step in the right direction. John McCain has done his time in congress and has done little to improve the culture of corruption. He is to be honored for his service for our country, but Senator McCain needs to go. Please help elect J.D. Hayworth to the U.S. Senate.

When you compare their differences, it’s as clear as black and white:

J.D. Hayworth helped write the Bush tax cuts of 2001 and 2003. John McCain voted against them and denounced them as “tax cuts for the wealthy.”

J.D. Hayworth opposed TARP. John McCain was a key vote for the measure. In fact, former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said that “We wouldn’t have gotten TARP done if John McCain hadn’t been supportive of it.” McCain wanted to go even further, proposing an additional $300 Billion to buy up all of the bad debts, leaving the taxpayers to pay for the mistakes of others.

J.D. Hayworth opposed the auto bailouts. John McCain supported them.

J.D. Hayworth opposes Cap & Trade legislation and rejects phony climate change data. John McCain co-wrote the McCain-Lieberman Cap & Trade bill.

J.D Hayworth opposes amnesty for illegal aliens and has a long record of fighting to secure our borders and enforce our laws. John McCain co-wrote the McCain-Kennedy Amnesty bill that the Heritage Foundation estimated would cost the taxpayers $2.6 Trillion.

J.D. Hayworth believes that a vigorous political debate is vital to the long-term health of our nation, and that free speech is the cornerstone of our Constitutional Republic. John McCain co-wrote the McCain-Feingold legislation that placed a gag order on groups like the National Rifle Association and National Right to Life. This legislation was largely struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court because it constituted a direct assault on the first amendment rights of Americans. McCain was “disappointed” by the outcome.

J.D. Hayworth supported the Federal Marriage Amendment and believes it is critical that marriage be protected from those who would redefine it. John McCain voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment.

J.D. Hayworth supports the appointment and confirmation of conservative, strict constitutionalists, as judges. John McCain led the Gang of 14 that blocked the confirmation of just these kinds of judges. Yet John McCain voted to confirm Eric Holder as Attorney General of the United States?

J.D. Hayworth is a proven, consistent conservative, with a lifetime rating of 98 from the American Conservative Union. John McCain’s lifetime rating is 81 and dropping. McCain’s score last year was an abysmal 63. And while John McCain falsely claims that J.D. Hayworth is a big spender, he ignores the fact that J.D. Hayworth has a better lifetime rating from Citizens Against Government Waste than does McCain.

I agree with Hannity, the 2010 mid term elections are probably the most important in my lifetime.

JD Hayworth Wants To Send John McCain Home

Filed under: 2010 Elections — Cato Uticensis @ 2:41 PM

JD Hayworth former congressman from Arizona is looking to unseat Senator John McCain. Mr. Hayworth has stepped down as host of his radio program on KFYI-AM, a conservative radio talk show in Phoenix to make a run for the Senate.

Former Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth says he is planning to run against John McCain for his U.S. Senate seat…

“We will formally announce at a later time, but we’re moving forward to challenge John McCain,” he said. “I think we all respect John. I think his place in history is secure. But after close to a quarter-century in Washington, it’s time for him to come home.

He said he wasn’t serious about running against McCain until a recent “outpouring of support” from Arizonans asking him to run changed his mind.

“Arizonans have a clear choice _ a clear, commonsense, consistent conservative, or they can remain with a moderate who calls himself a maverick,” Hayworth said.

Read rest here >>>

I agree with JD Hayworth that we all admire John McCain for his public service, but it’s time Senator McCain to step down and go home. Senator McCain likes to refer to himself as a “maverick,” no, Senator McCain you’re a RINO! Republican politicians like McCain have done more harm to the conservative cause than they did to help it. The good people of Arizona should replace a RINO (Republican In Name Only) in favor of a true conservative.

Two things are bothering me about the John McCain campaign; one, why is Sarah Palin backing and supporting a RINO? I believe Governor Palin to be a true conservative, but I’m baffled why she’s throwing her endorsement behind Senator John McCain. Second, I’m bothered by Cindy McCain’s decision to suggest those who support traditional marriage are motivated by hatred.

According to Redstate JD Hayworth is more conservative than John McCain. John McCain’s tenure in congress has done little to promote and advance the conservative cause. Senator McCain, it’s time to go home.
